As Residual Value & Collateral Risk Expert you will work within a Nordic team of equals and your main role will be to leverage knowledge about cars and second-hand markets to ensure balanced risk taking for Santander in Norway. The Residual Value & Collateral Risk team is part of the Auto Retail Risk team within the Nordics.

A success factor for you will be a general knowledge of the Norwegian market and what brands and properties are important for optimizing second-hand values in the different segments. Additionally, it is important to be updated on technological developments in the car industry combined with infrastructure and macro developments to make the best possible decisions given the information available. The car market is continuously evolving so it is an advantage to have sources and strategies to keep up to speed with the latest, both for new and used vehicles.

The positions entails being the local expert and go-to person for anything related to vehicle valuation and it is vital to be able to have clear opinions whilst being vocal about inherent limitations and uncertainties related to the topic. As such, the position is a great way of accessing all the newest knowledge on the topic, participating in a cross-Nordic expert community and hone one’s knowledge continuously. This is a new position in Norway thus there will be quite some freedom to shape the position in one’s own image as well.

Since many of our tasks involve other departments, good communication and interpersonal skills are needed, and a proactive attitude is an advantage.

We offer a job with a lot of variety and where cooperation is key to success. The tasks may vary and so will your daily agenda. The position is located at Lysaker (Oslo). Some travelling within the Nordics is to be expected.

Some professional properties that we believe would be positive, however not necessarily mandatory are:

  • Industry experience, either from sales of new or second-hand cars, leasing industry or valuation of vehicles in another context
  • Experience from analytics and/or high-level analysis of fleets, or similar
  • You come from positions where you have had a high level of autonomy

There will be communication with many different stakeholders so the ability to make informed decisions, admit mistakes and course correct is an important trait. Additionally, there are some personal traits we regard as being beneficial for this position, being:

  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Adaptability
  • A holistic orientation and cost/benefit mindset
  • High level of integrity
  • Proficient communication capabilities
  • Fluency in oral and written English is a must
